DANCE AND RHYTHMICS 1

Dance and Rhythmics class will introduce students to the fundamentals of dance, while also encouraging students to explore in their dance movement. Each class will begin with a warm-up focusing on alignment and body awareness. Center-floor and across the floor exercises will emphasize working with different rhythms and movements.

Dancers will also learn a variety of technique as well as key vocabulary terms pertaining to different dance styles. Dance styles learned in class will be Hip Hop, Jazz, Ballet, Cultural, Tap, and Contemporary Lyrical.

Students will be asked to learn, choreograph, perform, and observe combinations throughout the semester and analyze their peers. This class will culminate with a final showcase at the end of each semester.
